Questions, answered

Anything else? The organisers answer on the Stackhouse Discord every weekday.

Ask the team

No. About a third of the hackers arrive alone. The team-forming session on Friday evening helps you find people whose skills fit yours.

Yes. Entry, meals, drinks, a sleep pod and the T-shirt are paid for by the partners. You only pay for your trip to Berlin, and we have travel grants for 40 people.

You do. Every team keeps 100% of its code and IP. Challenge partners may offer a pilot or a licence afterwards, but only if you want one.

Please do. One prize is only for first-time teams, and mentors run a short “first hackathon” briefing on Friday.

A laptop, its charger, a refillable bottle and something warm to sleep in. Hardware hackers can borrow kits from the lab.

Hackers must be 18 or older on 15 October 2027. Younger builders are welcome at the monthly meetups with a parent or teacher.

Apply to hack

Free for every builder. Applications close on 1 October 2027.
